It doesn't SEEM like a hardware issue, but I'm far from an expert. Turning off vsync removed the 60 FPS cap, but the screen does seem to tear a bit as I turn around sometimes. However, every now and then the game caps the fps at 72 for me (which is exactly half of 144) and then I have to apply the in game video resolution settings again which again changes the FPS. I have tried turning my resolution down, vsync on/off, etc. I reinstalled, as well as verified twice, no files missing. It is preconfigued to launch through DOSBox, but the file. Countless First Person Shooters owe their success to the creation of Doom. When I start the game, it keeps flashing, goes black, then shows the screen, like twice a second.
